EPA on Wednesday published a proposed consent decree for a lawsuit filed last December by the Center for Food Safety and the Pesticide Action Network North America. The agreement states EPA will decide by Sept. 30 on whether to begin drafting regulations for treated seeds or reject the environmental groups' demands.

The National Weather Service on Tuesday classified a storm that hit South Dakota, Iowa and southern Minnesota Tuesday evening as a derecho. South Dakota weather stations reported winds reached as high as 99 mph around Howard, South Dakota, northwest of Sioux Falls. Winds across parts of Iowa hit 80 mph, though the storm weakened as it reached the eastern edge of Iowa.
PRE-6 A.M. GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is up 9 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 34 1/4 cents, and September KC wheat is up 27 1/2 cents.
Cattle futures redeemed themselves yesterday by regaining most of the losses from Tuesday, but it did not provide much technical direction for traders. Cash activity should take place today. Hog futures found the favor of buyers again yesterday in 2022 contracts with spread trading pushing futures higher.
